I know that because when I reinstalled the original version i had downloaded to begin with (10.11.4) I flipped the cable and it showed up immediatelyīut that left me with the newest (again 10.11. This was because of my cable orientation though So during all my testing with these older versions apparently I had my cable plugged in incorrectly (thunderbolt) so the shuttle didn’t show up in the black magic panel when I had versions. Within one of these versions (possibly all three I don’t remember) was a version of the media express application that worked on my system! yay You may need to configure the device Input and Connection to match your cameras output. In Dragonframes Preferences Capture, select Enable Blackmagic module and restart Dragonframe. Dragonframe wont detect your device without it. So this morning I went back to the link I posted earlier and downloaded and older version of the video desktop software bundleĪnd found a couple that I ended up downloading Make sure you have the latest Blackmagic Desktop Video software installed. This is ideal for displaying your video editing and color correction results full-screen with 10-bit color support, while keeping your main monitor(s) for handling the rest of your workflow. I tried messing around with a bunch of setting and no such luck The Blackmagic Design DeckLink Mini Monitor 4K upgrades a workstation with HDMI and SDI outputs for connecting a reference monitor. So naturally I went to plug in the component output from the LZX system nextĪnd nothing showed up like it did for the switch I recorded some donkey kong with quicktime Then I powered the switch on and and by pressing the home button and then it showed up on my computer screen! I opened up quicktime and went to file>new movie recording and selected the shuttle as the input via the selector next to the record button I changed the input to HDMI on the blackmagic desktop software panel So I plugged the HDMI output from the switch into the HDMI input on the shuttle Then I tried the closest powered video source which happened to be a nintendo switch The black magic media express software doesn’t seem to want to open on my operating system (from the download 10.11.4 os is 10.10.5) so I was going to try quicktime for capture as a short term solution The shuttle immediately showed up in the desktop video software panel when plugged in via thunderbolt Might be "Desktop Video Helper Service" but i'm not sure at this point. So I found a crazy good deal on black magic intensity thunderbolt shuttles on ebay and bought one But lookign trough my services on my machine i can not spot which one it is. It has to do with restarting the Updater Service in windows. There was a topic about this last few days, but i'm not able to find it for reference. Available in 11 different languages, the guide walks you through setup, capturing and playback, encoding, and integrating with DaVinci Resolve or third-party software. You have to manually restart the Update services for the blackmagic card. Blackmagic has also released an updated Desktop Video manual with over 80 pages of information. But last few weeks there are more people having the same issues. Normally after a reboot you will be prompted to upgrade the firmware. If not that is your problem!! BMD Desktop Video wont show the hardware if it is running a different firmware version then the software is. If it is then still not detected another guess.ĭid you had any popup that the hardware needed a firmware upgrade? The driver worked and is making Have you rebooted the system? Because after the installation of the software you have to reboot your machine. Tony, The BMD hardware can be seen in the hardware panel.
